Denver (Colorado), July 24, 2024 – Alterra Mountain Company is preparing to welcome people from around the world to Utah as Deer Valley Resort will host certain events during the 2034 Winter Olympics. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made the announcement early this morning from Paris, confirming that Salt Lake City-Utah's 2034 bid was successful. As part of these Games, Deer Valley will host freestyle skiing events, including moguls and aerials, continuing its long tradition of commitment to the evolution of winter sports.
The selection of Deer Valley as the venue for the 2034 Winter Olympics coincides with the destination's Expanded Excellence™ initiative. This series of projects, which will be unveiled to the public in 2034, aims to evolve the resort and enhance the experience for future generations. Highlights of this initiative include doubling the existing ski area, developing the brand new Deer Valley East Village, transforming the base area of the snow park, and revitalizing existing facilities. More information about these various projects can be found on the Expanded Excellence website.
