5 MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS AT SELECT DESTINATIONS
PALISADES TAHOE, CA
In December 2022, Palisades Tahoe opened its highly anticipated $65 million Base to Base Gondola. Connecting The Village at Palisades Tahoe and the Alpine Lodge in just 16 minutes, the new gondola makes Palisades Tahoe one of the largest ski areas in North America, with access to 6,000 skiable acres.
STEAMBOAT, CO
Building on the momentum from a successful Phase 1 redevelopment plan in 21/22, Winter 22/23 brings Phase II of the Full Steam Ahead transformation marked by a reimagined base area with an ice rink and future food hall. The first section of the Wild Blue Gondola debuted in December 2022 and takes guests to the new Greenhorn Ranch learning center. When completed next year, the new Wild Blue Gondola will be the longest gondola in North America and the fastest 10-person gondola in the country. The 13-minute ride will take guests 3.16 miles, increasing the out-of-base capacity from 6,000 people per hour to 10,000 people per hour.
CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN, WA
As part of the largest investment ever made at Crystal Mountain, the next five years will see a $100MM investment across infrastructure and service advancements. With a focus on greater access, these improvements will transform the base including enhanced guest services, ticketing, additional parking, new retail, refreshed dining, and an expanded slope-side beach area.
MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, CA
Mammoth Mountain began work on the replacement of two key lifts with high-speed six-packs – Canyon Express (Chair 16) and Broadway Express (Chair 1). Additionally, Woolly’s Adventure Summit will undergo improvements, allowing it to become a year-round adventure center with activities for kids of all ages. On the snow, the mountain is implementing snowmaking enhancements that will open more terrain earlier in the season.
DEER VALLEY, UT
New for winter 22/23, the Burns Express chairlift will debut on Deer Valley’s Wide West learning area. The new chairlift will connect the Snow Park base area to Little Baldy Mountain, offering ski school access to more beginner teaching terrain. Planning for the renaissance of the Snow Park Village is under way and includes a reimagined plaza and transit arrival with hospitality accommodations, new food and beverage options, retail and an expansive ski beach. The project is currently planned to break ground in 2023.
